Student Government

Each fall, the ASMS student body elects officers and class representatives for the Student Government.  Any student may petition to be on the ballot for these elections.  Once elected, Student Government participants meet weekly with their faculty advisor to plan activities and service for the school. The Student Government has planned crazy and casual dress days, ice cream sundaes after testing, dances, and the end-of-year field day.

Jazz Band

Jazz Band meets weekly for the first and second trimester.  All students are welcome.  We are open to all instrumentalists, including string players.  Students in jazz band play jazz, popular, and rock styles of music and will usually perform at the November and February concerts.  Jazz Band has also performed locally in the community.

Owl Chorale

The Owl Chorale is a treble voice vocal ensemble which meets weekly throughout the year.  They sing a wide variety of music both accompanied and a cappella.  The group performs at school concerts as well as in the community.

Boys Ensemble

The Boys Ensemble is a vocal group comprised of changed, changing and unchanged male voices.  They sing a variety a cappella and accompanied selections.  The group rehearses weekly and performs at school concerts as well as in the community.

Ice Skating

During the winter months, the ASMS Ice Skating Club meets weekly for 4-5 weeks, weather permitting.  Students walk with chaperones to the Corning Civic Center Skating Rink after school.
