Academic Competitions

Students at ASMS have the opportunity to participate in several academic contests across many different subject areas.  Most notably, as part of the ASMS science curriculum, students in seventh and eighth grade may choose to participate in a variety of national contests including:

Since the founding of the school, the success of our teams has been impressive, with national and regional winners and numerous honorable mentions in all competitions.

Annually, ASMS participates in the state-wide MathCounts competition, Scripps National Spelling Bee, and the National Geographic Geography Bee.  ASMS students have also been successful in local and national writing contests, as well as local art competitions.  The accomplishments of our students speak to the diversity of their interests and their engagement in learning.
