Exxperience - Guidance
GuidanceMiddle school counseling is a unique opportunity to help guide students through their challenging developmental years. Some considerations for early adolescent development include biological changes (puberty), cognitive changes (ability to plan ahead), environmental changes (new school) and social changes (increased need for the support of their peers).
The services offered by the school counselor at ASMS include student testing, high school planning, individual couseling, group counseling, parent/teacher consultation, classroom instruction and referrals to outside agencies. The school counselor acts as a liason between parents, students, teachers and administrators.
