ASMS Mission Statement
The Alternative School for Math and Science, a diverse community of students, teachers, and parents, provides an academically challenging and supportive learning environment uniquely designed for 10 to 14 year olds. The Schools innovative curriculum, atmosphere of trust and respect and commitment to life - long learning enable the positive development of the whole child. Every aspect of school life is intended to help students learn tolerance, build integrity and character, and become responsible members of the broader community.

Our vision is to create a middle - level learning program that is academically excellent, developmentally responsive, and socially equitable. This program will develop students who:
Will have the academic skills necessary to achieve their highest potential in high school and college Will be responsible members of the community both as students and as adults Will be capable of interacting effectively with a diverse group of classmates... and with a diverse group of colleagues as adults.
